IT’S ALWAYS “LULU TIME!” - Live music seven days a week and a fun filled family atmosphere with authentic Gulf Shores cuisine is what you will find at Lulu’s at Homeport Marina! Located just off Alabama Highway 59 at the Intracoastal Waterway and Homeport Marina, you can find a menu filled with everything from fried green tomatoes to Mahi Tacos. Lucy Buffett moved back to Alabama from Los Angeles to take care of her parents whom were both ill. When she first opened Lulu’s, she wanted a little place on the water where someone could get a cold beer and a good burger, just like her daddy would have loved after a long day of fishing. According to Lucy, “Lulus’s is a state of mind. We’re all about good food, good music, and good times. A place to confirm that life is good…” Equipped with 3 bars and a huge sand pile for the kids, the unique restaurant concept was originally located in Weeks Bay, AL and was born nine years ago. After the government decided not to renew her lease, Lulu’s was moved by barge to the Gulf Shores; where it is celebrating its 4th anniversary this year. Lulu’s grew from 50 to 400 seats and now serves over 3,500 patrons daily in the summer!
Lucy Buffett is the youngest sibling in the Buffett clan. You may have heard of her older brother Jimmy, the man who made Margarita Ville a famous song and a restaurant chain. “There is magic when you walk in the door,” states Johnny Fischer, General Manager at Lulu’s. Fischer adds, “We take pride in our employees, which produces a good hospitality environment.” Johnny comes to Lulu’s from working at the House of Blues in both New Orleans and Orlando for 10 years. This has helped him bring in some great national and regional entertainment to Lulu’s. According to Fischer, “We are always doing fun and imaginative events including LuLu Palooza and Billy Clause.” An annual event for the kids occurs every New Year’s Eve day exactly at noon, where then entire restaurant is paved with bubble wrap for the kids to jump on.
