Wireless Point of Sale Technology

Wireless point of sale technology WPOS is now available through most hospitality based point of sale providers. There are distinct advantages of going wireless with your point of sale system. Wait times for sales or service are eliminated, because the server is entering the order directly into a hand held device from the table, also eliminating paper errors.

The productivity of employees is also increased, as they do not have to walk circles around the restaurant to get to a monitor, and in turn wait behind other employees to use it-wasting precious time. Wired installations can also be costly, and those expenses are eliminated.

Wireless point of sale (wireless POS or WPOS) typically consists of a station base directly connected to a central network and one or more handheld devices that communicate wirelessly to that network. Theft Prevention

Pilfering and theft in the workplace can be very costly in the hospitality industry.  The problems produced by theft in the workplace are not as simple as currency or items taken.  Time spent tracking items and people deduct productivity from a business that could be devoted elsewhere.  Before a business even becomes aware of it, theft could be costing it a large percentage of profits or funds needed to keep the business afloat, and robbing it of time to focus on growth and change.

Pinnacle Hospitality Systems offers solutions to this growing menace of theft and pilfering in the work realm.  A point of sale system includes tracking modules that create accountability for items, cash and employees.  Operations are logged automatically, and include time, date and user.  The tracking and accountability alleviate time and efforts spent by management, and prevent most forms of workplace theft.

Employees are far less likely to be dishonest when they are being monitored and everything is accounted for with quality hardware and software.  The work environment is more pleasant, and management can streamline and improve business operations when their time is freed up to focus.

Important Things to Know When Opening a Restaurant

If you are considering entering the restaurant business, there are many aspects to analyze and consider prior to taking the plunge.  Vital things to examine are as follows:

1.       Failure rate is high!

2.       Hours are brutal

3.       Costs can soar

Most newly established restaurants do not make it past their first year.  The failure rate of new restaurants is so high that it becomes important to profile successful establishments to see what they are doing right!

Many restaurants have implemented point of sale systems (POS systems) to control and streamline business operations.  POS systems include features to help you track your inventory and expenses, creating cost control and a visual guideline to keep your company on the right path.  Other available features include reporting modules, time management features, inventory modules, labor management, hand held portable computers for instant order processing and so much more!

There are a variety of features available through POS systems, and a representative from Pinnacle Hospitality Systems is able to review the needs of a hospitality business and tailor a business solution that is effective.
