Restaurant POS SystemWhat is your favorite food truck menu item?  Food truck operators must combine the need for carry and go foods and the desire to stand out from their competitors.  High end condiments or flavorings are being used to dress up basic dishes and give food that twist customers are looking for.  The research firm, Datassential surveyed food truck menus and found that sandwiches were most listed on these menus followed closely by Mexican items.

Mexican food ranked high mostly because food trucks have combined Mexican entrées, such as tacos, with other food and cuisine types to create portable versions for consumers. The ease of holding and eating a taco lends itself as a vessel for nontraditional Mexican meats. Such as the Korean barbecue tacos served by the Kogi BBQ truck based out of Los Angeles. Blue Moon Resturant POS SystemA tasting of Spanish wines will start Blue Moon Fish Company’s monthly summer wine series on Thursday, April 26. This seven month long series is held the last Thursday of every month and will end October 24th.  Chef-owners Baron Skorish and Bryce Statham invite connoisseurs of all levels to enjoy the best wines each country has to offer paired with paired with hors d’oeuvres chosen to complement each vintage.  The tasting will be held from 6-7 pm and is $25 per person.  Blue Moon Fish Co. has one of the most enviable sites for a seafood restaurant in town as it is located at 4405 West Tradewinds Avenue in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Some Local Zest

Johnson & Wales Zest AwardsLast week, Johnson & Wales University in North Miami inaugurated its Zest awards at a private reception. The university in partnership with Miami Magazine gave awards to local restaurants, chefs and other food and beverage professionals in five categories; culinary innovator, best restaurant 2012, newcomer chef of the year, baking and pastry innovator, top beverage professional and community nominee.  Winners were chosen by culinary instructors from the university, members of the university’s epicurean society and a food writer from the magazine. Branding With Mugs

Another Broken Egg MugDo you have Another Broken Egg mug from your favorite location?  With 20 locations this Destin, FL based breakfast and brunch specialist sell 22,000 mugs per year.  Each specially made coffee mug is branded with Another Broken Egg’s logo and an emblem of the town that is home to each individual restaurant. This Deli Stacks Up

Food critic, John Tanasychuk awarded the deli located at The Reserve, 9942 Clint Moore Road, Boca Raton with 3 ½ stars out of 4. The big and busy, 242 seat dining room is often packed with customers enjoying everything from old-style classics such as beef-tongue Polonaise to chic veggie burgers.

Ben’s does classic sandwiches such as corned beef, pickled in house, and brisket. But the dinner selections include incredible stuffed cabbage, Hungarian goulash, chicken and beef flanken in a pot with matzo ball, noodles, kreplach, peas and carrots. There are also omelets, hot open-faced sandwiches, salads and entrees such as roast turkey, broiled chopped steak and broiled Romanian steak with sautéed onions. Stop In and Enjoy the Breeze

Archie's SeabreezeIn 1966 Archie Summerlin, the “Unofficial Mayor of South Beach”,  left the rat race of Dade and Broward Counties, and got a good deal on a bar that had been in existence on Fort Pierce’s South Beach since 1947.
