Pinnacle Hospitality Systems, point of sale provider for Alabama and Florida has been nominated for the 2008 ITFlorida Award within the category of Excellence in Web 2.0, which is given annually by ITFlorida.
The award is given to the candidate who displays notable achievements in the arena of the information technology industry and is narrowed down to four finalists across 17 categories. Categories include:
- Excellence in IT Leadership (six regional awards)
Northeast, Northwest, Central, Tampa Bay, Southeast, Southwest
Small Business of the Year
High Growth Company of the Year
Government Technology Leadership (two awards)
Excellence in Bridging the Digital Divide
Excellence in New Business Recruitment
Excellence in Web 2.0
Excellence in Sustainability through Information Technology
Innovation and Entrepreneurialism Award
IT Florida Legislator of the Year Award
IT Leader of the Year (one statewide award)
Finalists of the ITFlorida award are to be announced in mid-September, and the winners will be announced at the annual ITFlorida Awards Gala on October 6th at Disney.
Keynote speakers of the awards Gala are to include Senator Bill Nelson, Florida Senate President –Designate Jeff Atwater and State Senator Jeremy Ring. When finalists are announced in mid-September they are eligible to be VIP’s at the awards Gala.
Past winners of the ITFlorida Award include the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, CIOs of Moffitt Cancer Center, and entrepreneurs of small start up companies. ITFLorida is a public private partnership consisting of elected and appointed government officials from both major corporations and small businesses who assist the state’s Congressional Delegation, the Governor, the Legislature and other economic development organizations.
